Trump Ambassador Lobbied Britain on Behalf of Jailed Rebel Media Contributor
Media outlets are reporting that Trump’s Ambassador for International Religious Freedom Sam Brownback lobbied Britain on behalf of jailed Rebel Media contributor Tommy Robinson.
According to Reuters, Brownback raised the case of Tommy Robinson in June, and threated Britain that if they didn’t treat Robinson more respectively, the Trump administration would publicly criticize Britain’s handling of the situation.
Robinson is a Rebel Media contributor and founder of the English Defence League (EDL), a violent far-right anti-Muslim organization that has organized numerous violent protests. EDL was also connected to Norwegian mass murderer Anders Behring Breivik who murdered 76 people.
At a recent rally organized by Robinson supporters protesting his prison sentence, Robinson supporters gave the Nazi salute.
Rebel Media has been actively covering the case. On July 13th, Rebel Media founder Ezra Levant said he planed to fly to the UK at the request of Robinson himself.
Rebel Media also called on supporters to email Robinson though EmailAPrisoner.com, to donate to Robinson’s legal defence fund at SaveTommy.com and to pay for Ezra’s travel at TommyTrial.com
Rebel Media also created a Tommy Robinson ringtone. No, this is not a joke.
