Doug Ford’s yearly FordFest always draws an interesting crowd and 2019 was no exception.

This year’s event came at the end of Ford’s most tumultuous week yet that saw a massive cabinet shuffle, patronage appointments of friends to taxpayer-funded jobs and the departure of Ford’s chief of staff.

Many wondered how Ford’s fans would react, but it appears many continue to stick by him.

One fan who donned Donald Trump’s infamous Make America Great Again hat was interviewed by CityTV. He said he didn’t “see why people can say bad things about (Ford), he’s helping us.”

When asked about Ford’s cuts to education and healthcare, he said he thinks “there’s more important things, honestly.”

You can watch the whole exchange below.

Unlike previous events, this year’s Ford Fest was ticketed, likely due to Ford’s infamous photo with white supremacist sympathizer Faith Goldy. Ford refused to apologize for appearing with her and faced weeks of criticism.
