Racist Quebec law targeting minorities criticized around the world after hypocritical photo op
Quebec’s Education Minister is under fire for hypocrisy after sharing a photo with women’s rights icon Malala Yousafzai.
Minister Jean-François Roberge shared a photo of Malala Yousafzai, a Nobel Prize winner who was shot in the head for defending women’s rights, where they discussed “access to education and international development”.
People were quick to point out that under Quebec’s new law that prevents public sector workers from wearing religious items or clothing, Malala would be prevented from being a teacher unless she removed her hijab.
Social media users from around the world pointed out the hypocrisy.
