With rent due soon, it’s vital politicians hear your concerns directly. Calling your elected officials is a powerful way to make an impact

The tool is simple:

• A new poll from Angus Reid shows 1 in 3 Canadians are worried they’ll miss rent or mortgage payments during COVID-19 and almost 1 million people have applied for EI
• Cancelling rent, mortgage payments, utilities and preventing evictions will ensure thousands of Canadians aren’t forced to choose between groceries and a place to live. It can be done – a similar policy was adopted in Italy
• At the very least, we must institute rent and mortgage deferrals, freeze evictions and provide direct support for those who cannot pay rent
