Don’t give-in to Conservatives and the gun lobby: Keep the assault weapons ban

Conservatives and the gun lobby are working over-time to weaken Canada’s gun restrictions.

They’re mobilizing to kill the assault weapons ban. 75,000 people have signed a petition to make dangerous assault weapons legal again. We need to Canadians to speak out and support the assault weapons ban.

They say it is undemocratic. That it is an infringement on our rights. Nothing could be farther from the truth.

80 percent of Canadians support a ban on assault weapons. [1] The Supreme Court has made it clear that there is no “right” to possess firearms in this country. [2]

A vocal minority with powerful lobbyists behind them are trying to make dangerous weapons legal again. Some of Canada’s gun lobby is even connected to the NRA. [3]

Many of the changes like the gun buyback still require a vote – we need to ensure the Liberals, NDP and Bloc don’t give-in to the gun lobby. It’s critical they hear directly from you.

Will you tell your politician not to cave-in to radical pro-gun activists and Canada’s far-right gun lobby?
