The Ford government has brought in tougher restrictions to fight COVID, including asking Ontarians to limit social interactions and shutting down larger gatherings.

But this doesn’t apply to Ontario schools, even as COVID spreads to students and teachers.[1]

Ford’s refusal to properly fund a safe back to school by reducing class sizes has made social distancing impossible in schools. This decision is putting the lives of everyone at risk.

It didn’t have to be this way. Other countries have already learned from this mistake and are capping class sizes. Experts agree that small class sizes must be a priority for any back-to-school strategy. [2]

COVID restrictions that don’t address schools means it will be extremely difficult to reduce the spread of COVID. All our sacrifices could be for nothing unless Ford acts.
