Tell Loblaws: Stop the Shareholder Payout and Help Front-Line Workers Instead

Loblaws Companies Ltd. owns Shoppers Drug Mart, Atlantic Superstore, No Frills, Dominion, and Fortinos grocery chains. The company hires hundreds of thousands of Canadians, but many get minimum wage and are kept in part-time work.

While millions have gone unemployed, this pandemic has barely affected the conglomerate. The billionaire family that owns Loblaws has gotten $1.6 billion richer since March. [2]

Loblaws sales and profit are up so much, the company is increasing the dividend they pay out to their wealthy shareholders. [3]

And yet Loblaws was quick to revoke its hazard pandemic pay for workers after only a few months. They refuse to increase wages for workers, even though the money is there to do it.

Loblaws continues to profit off their front-line workers who are getting underpaid and overworked. These are the same essential workers we cheered on who are risking their lives at work during the pandemic. It is time we actually stand up for them.

Help us take the fight to Loblaws and fight for these workers Sign this petition and demand that Loblaws pay its workers a living wage!
